Life Moves Pretty Fast...

...and if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Since we've gotten to Tokyo, it feels like everything has been a blur. The days all start to morph together from running around from train station to train station. The past couple of days we decided to finally just... breathe. All of our friends from home left back to the States so Calvin and I have tried to just blend into local living. Semi-Hard to do with Calvin's skin color but c'est la vie. He is working on his Japanese reading lesson as I write!

We started our day by heading to a internet cafe so Calvin could work for a bit. The rooms are sooo small but I find them kind of endearing and intimate. Calvin's tall self didn't find it that fun. There were 3 levels of the establishment. 2 were the internet cafe rooms, each a private room with floor to ceiling walls and a lock on the door. While the last level was filled with manga (graphic novels) to the brim. The manga floor also had showers for people staying over night. This place is open 24/7 so you definitely need showers in a place with people there non-stop.

Once we worked for a bit, we ended up doing some laundry at a local laundromat. Most homes in Japan may have a washing machine, but rarely do they have a dryer. You will see clothes just hanging from balconies and clotheslines instead. Kind of gnarly when you think about how little space each person has outside.

For dinner we had some very delicious yakiniku (grilled mean) at a local restaurant only a short walk away. Speaking of walking, I don't think my step count has ever been this high. Glad that my abs are coming back but also I'm really putting my Hoka sneakers to work. Let's see how long they last. In Harajuku, we had to get Calvin new Nike shoes because of how bad his feet hurt. His Cole Haan's were not cutting it anymore. He nearly threw them in the trash after that day.

Anyways, back to the meats! WOW! How freaking delicious. We ended up getting 2 premium cuts (that the chef chose), loin, and short rib. Let me just say... Japanese meat just melts in your mouth. I don't know if every meat here is Waygu but it definitely tastes like it.

Finally, we ended our night at a neko izakaya (cat bar). Where we met Tabby and the adorable old couple that owned her. It was so small but so cute in there. Tabby reminded me of Sky's cat, Tunis, because of how fat she was. I mean look at her round face! She stayed there yelling at us from the stacked chairs until Calvin finally pulled a chair out for her to sit on next to him. Then she came up on the table for some of Calvin's famous pets.
